In order to give you a surreal experience during the tour, Bike and Trek Adventure have planned the itineraries and routes meticulously. We have allocated enough time to be spent in each place, so that you don’t miss the breath-taking locales and the finest amenities each place has to offer.  When you choose to tour with us, you can be assured of an unforgettable experience! Around 95% of our tracks are paved country road tracks, mostly on small hills for your safety and comfort. 

 

ACCOMMODATION: 

Accommodation is obtainable in any respect locations. Most of the resorts are lifestyle Resorts /luxury Eco Resorts, Hotels and heritage properties. Our value is primarily based totally on dual sharing. For individuals who wishes single occupation room, we provide single occupation room with extra cost. 
 

TERRAIN 

This itinerary allows for average daily distance of approximately 40-60 km. This is designed to enjoy the cycling through rural life and meet people of Vietnam and Cambodia. The vehicle will accompany and en-route make stop for bottled water and fruits juices for the cyclist. A nice way of sharing different experienced on the way. The Bike support vehicle will always travel behind the last cyclist. If you wish to take a break from riding than wait at the side of the road and support vehicle will pick you up. Road condition contains a mixture of tarmac, concrete, and some gravels. The majority of riding takes place on small concrete road through villages. Sometimes, it requires traversing a few kilometers on bigger to link up some small areas. Unpaved surfaces are found at some places in remote areas

Liability and Personal Health Insurance:

Bike and Trek Adventure does not provide personal liability insurance to the guests on the trip. We recommend that each rider has the relevant Personal Health Insurance for travelling in Asia and coverage of activities such as cycling. As we generally cycle in remote and seldom-visited areas of Vietnam, immediate access to critical care infrastructure such as ambulances is often not available. To ensure your safety, we provide a support vehicle for our excursions. Your safety comes first to us and we plan ahead to make sure that you have everything you need to cycle at your best.

 

FOOD 

We believe that eating local is not just a lot of fun but also are of those important elements of the destination experience- Very much a part of the adventure as they say! So, be flexible and prepared to savour and enjoy the varied and wonderful food of the world. Meals included and excluded are clearly specified on the detailed itinerary. When meals are included you will need to adhere to timings as these meals are usually at local restaurants. When meals are not included, your trip leader will be happy to make restaurant recommendations of favourite places frequented by the locals. Choice of vegetarian food can sometimes be limited and repetitive. Though special food, including vegetarian, child meals etc., can never be guaranteed. We do our best to accommodate your requests. On guided trips, please ensure you inform your leader if you are a vegetarian.
 

CLOTHING 

We recommend cycling shorts, dry fit T-shirts or cycling jerseys, and firm footwear. Loose fitting dresses or flip-flops are unsuitable for a cycling tour. You don’t have to carry extra clothes during the rainy season, carry only a rain jacket. Your safety is our priority. We advise our guests to wear a helmet at all times during the cycling part of the trip. As experts who have enough experience traveling via south Indian roads, we recommend our riders to apply a nice coat of sunscreen lotion. For added protection, you can use sun sleeves for your arms and buff headwear for your neck.

 

PRECAUTIONS 

  • Bring all of the crucial medications. Do now no longer ignore 

  • Consume quite a few liquids. Don’t drink faucet water. Use handiest bottled water that's constantly stored in the vehicle 

 

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is mandatory on all our trips and all details of your insurance policy including the policy number must be received by us prior to the start of your trip. We are unable to send you your travel certificate / Vouchers unless we receive them.

Keep with you sufficient Vietnamese Dongs in cash, money exchange or your international card.
 

Personal gear

People with particular requirements are advised to bring their own Bicycles, pedals, shoes, saddle, helmet and cycling clothes.

 

A typical day on the trip

You will ride for about 5-6hours through the villages and towns in the itinerary while also exploring the quaint lifestyle and the culture while you ride. The evenings are free for leisure activities and sightseeing.

 

Medical facilities available

There are medical facilities (First Aid) available but we suggest carrying your own first aid kit and personal medicines as well. Also consult with the family Doctor before coming on our tour.

Itinerary

DAY 1 - ORIENTATION (HO CHI MINH CITY) 

No cycling Meals provided: Welcome dinner Accommodation: not included Upon your arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, also affectionately known as Saigon, you will be introduced to the dedicated BTA team comprising guides, mechanics, and drivers who will accompany you on your thrilling journey from Saigon to Cambodia. A bike fitting session is slated for 4 PM in the Binh Chanh District, followed by a warm welcome dinner hosted by our team.

DAY 2 - HCM - BEN TRE - TRA VINH 

Cycling distance: 70km Meals provided: Lunch, dinner Accommodation: Cuu Long Hotel Website: https://travinh.gov.vn/1433/38342/71861/675349/hotels/cuu-long-hotel In the morning, participants will be transported by van to a local café nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta, where their meticulously adjusted bikes await. Following a brief excursion briefing at the café, we will mount our bikes and embark on our exhilarating journey. Seventy percent of today's route will be shaded by the towering coconut trees, offering respite from the sun-drenched Mekong. Riders will traverse a network of quaint canal bridges, taking in the verdant beauty of the surroundings. This picturesque landscape will eventually lead us to a coconut by-product factory, offering insight into the area's agricultural practices. After a rejuvenating lunch break, cyclists will resume their expedition, witnessing the transition from coconut-laden fields to idyllic delta communities and villages. While our path remains predominantly flat and paved, cyclists will have the opportunity to test their skills on narrow stretches winding through coconut plantations. Our journey culminates in Tra Vinh City, where we will unwind before indulging in a communal dinner and embarking on an evening of exploration.

DAY 3 - TRA VINH - CAN THO 

Cycling distance: 80km Meals provided: Breakfast, lunch Accommodation: Ninh Kieu Riverside Hotel Website: https://www.ninhkieuriversidehotel.vn/ While the initial leg of our journey unfolded amidst the lush Coconut Kingdom, today's itinerary brings the vibrant hues of rice paddies to the forefront of our landscape. In the morning, we'll embark on a leisurely bike ride to Ba Om Pond, an ancient Khmer architectural marvel dating back 800 years, renowned for its seasonal lotus blooms. Following this captivating stop, we'll pedal through expansive flatlands flanking rice paddies and serene canals, immersing ourselves in the essence of this region, celebrated as the second-largest rice producer in Vietnam. As the afternoon unfolds, we'll transition to Can Tho city via van transfer, where we'll embrace the city's lively ambiance and revel in panoramic rooftop vistas from its bustling restaurants. Don't forget to explore Can Tho's famed night markets, offering a tantalizing array of local delicacies and vibrant street scenes.

DAY 4 - CAN THO - LONG XUYEN 

Cycling distance: 80km Meals provided: Breakfast, lunch, dinner Accommodation: Hoa Binh Long Xuyen Hotel Website: http://www.hoabinhhotel.vn/ The day's excursion will be split into two distinctive experiences: a morning spent traversing the waterways and an afternoon exploring the land. Setting off from Can Tho, we'll board a boat bound for the renowned Cai Rang floating market, a journey spanning approximately 60 minutes. Upon arrival, we'll immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the market, taking time to explore its offerings and engage with local vendors. Following our floating market adventure, we'll transition to cycling along the riverbanks, traversing well-paved and secluded roads. En route, we'll be treated to picturesque views of fruit orchards intermingled with idyllic countryside trails. Eventually, the lush forested paths will yield to expansive rice fields, reminiscent of our journey on day 3. As we pedal through this serene landscape, the sense of solitude envelops us, offering a tranquil opportunity for reflection on the significance of both solitude and community. Our final destination will be the Bang Lang Stork Sanctuary. At this juncture, riders have the option to either continue cycling or opt for a van transfer to Long Xuyen City, where our day's adventures conclude.

DAY 5 - LONG XUYEN - CHAU DOC 

Cycling distance: 80km Meals provided: Breakfast, lunch, dinner Accommodation: Chau Pho Hotel Website: https://chauphohotel.com/ Following yet another hearty and delectable local breakfast, we'll embark on a 60-minute journey via our private shuttle to the ancient seat of the Southern Kingdom of Vietnam, a title bestowed upon it over 2000 years ago. Here, we'll delve into the rich history of the region with a visit to a local museum. Our next destination is the Tra Su National Reserve and Bird Sanctuary, located 55 kilometres away. En route, we'll traverse farmlands that are prone to flooding, necessitating our passage on elevated reinforced platforms above the fields. Arriving at Tra Su in the early afternoon, we'll find the majority of tourists have departed, allowing us to immerse ourselves fully in the tranquil surroundings. A leisurely stroll along a floating bridge, adorned with vibrant algae, awaits us, followed by the option to join guided boat tours through the shaded canals of the reserve. After this serene interlude, we'll indulge in a satisfying lunch before continuing our journey on bikes for a 25-kilometer stretch to our overnight accommodation in Chau Doc City. Alternatively, for those seeking respite, an air-conditioned van is available for transfer to the resting place.

DAY 6 - CHAU DOC - PHNOM PENH BY SPEED BOAT 

No cycling  Meals provided: Breakfast, lunch Accommodation: Ohana Hotel (superior room) or a similar standard hotel     Website: https://ohanahotelpp.com/ Today, you'll give your weary legs a break as you embark on a comfortable speed boat journey to Cambodia, departing at 6:45 am. The scenic ride spans approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes, during which you can indulge in some snacks onboard. Visa arrangements at the border will be expertly handled by the crew. Kindly ensure you have a passport photo with a white background and 35 USD in pristine cash for the border formalities. Upon arrival, you'll have the remainder of the day to discover the charms of Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia.

DAY 7 –PHNOM PENH MORNING CYCLO RIDE AND REST DAY

No Cycling Meals provided: Breakfast Accommodation: Ohana Hotel (superior room) or a similar standard hotel Website: https://ohanahotelpp.com/      Following breakfast at 8 am, your day kicks off with a delightful bike ride along the Boulevard leading to the Independent Monument. Along the way, you'll be treated to panoramic views of Phnom Penh from the riverside, with stops for capturing memorable snapshots of the Riverfront and the Royal Palace. You'll also witness locals engaging in dancing exercises along the roadside, providing a glimpse into everyday life in the city. After your bike excursion, you have the freedom to shape the rest of your day according to your preferences. Whether you opt to bask in the sun and unwind by the pool, explore the bustling streets of Phnom Penh, or delve into the historical significance of sites like the 'Killing Fields' and S-21 museum, the choice is entirely yours. This day is yours to tailor to your desires, whether you seek further exploration or simply wish to take it easy. We'll reconvene with you the following morning to continue our journey together.

DAY 8 - PHNOM PENH - KAMPONG THOM 

Cycling distance: 70km Meals provided: Breakfast, lunch, dinner Accommodation: Sambor Prei Kuk Homestay    Website: N/A After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you'll be transported by van to the Mekong boat pier for a scenic 45-minute boat tour upstream along the Mekong River to Koh Dach (Mekong Island), where our cycling adventure begins. As you pedal through the island's picturesque villages, you'll have the chance to observe local artisans crafting intricate textiles such as scarves and sarongs. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to visit a nearby pagoda and local school, immersing yourself in the island's vibrant community. Crossing the river via a local ferry, you'll continue your ride along the riverside before being chauffeured by van to Sambo Prik Kuk in Kampong Thom for a traditional dinner and an overnight stay in the welcoming embrace of a local home amidst the villagers.

DAY 9 – KAMPONG THOM – SIEM REAP 

Cycling distance: 65km Meals provided: Breakfast, lunch, dinner Accommodation: The Sanctuary Residence or a similar standard hotel Website: https://www.sanctuaryresidence.com/   As your final destination before reaching Siem Reap, you'll embark on a cycling journey from your hotel to the UNESCO-listed Sambor Prei Kuk Temple complex, comprising a hundred brick Hindu temples nestled amidst the serene forest. After exploring this historic site, you'll pedal through the tranquil countryside, covering a total distance of 65 kilometres. Upon completion of your ride, our driver will be ready to transfer you to your destination in Siem Reap.

DAY 10 – ANGKOR TEMPLES CYCLING

Cycling distance: 45km Meals provided: Breakfast, lunch Accommodation: The Sanctuary Residence or a similar standard hotel Website: https://www.sanctuaryresidence.com/ This day will be dedicated to exploring the renowned Angkor temples, particularly Angkor Wat, alongside an experienced local tour guide. Cycling through Angkor Wat offers a unique way to discover its wonders, and the team at BTA highly recommends an early start to avoid the crowds of tourists. We'll convene at 5 am for a sunrise ride from your hotel in Siem Reap to Angkor Wat. The journey begins with a pedal to Angkor Thom City, where a breakfast stop awaits before commencing the temple visits. From there, you'll cycle to the Bayon temple, followed by a ride along jungle trails to the Preah Khan temple. A homemade lunch will be savoured in a nearby village before continuing your exploration along jungle trails to East Mebon, Ta Prohm (famous from the Tomb Raider movie), and other iconic Angkor temples. At the conclusion of our adventures, private transportation will whisk you back to your hotel.

DAY 11 – SIEM REAP VILLAGE CYCLING & TONLE SAP LAKE KAYAKING

Cycling distance: 45 km Meals provided: Breakfast, lunch, dinner Accommodation: The Sanctuary Residence or a similar standard hotel  Website: https://www.sanctuaryresidence.com/ Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting off on a cycling adventure from our accommodation towards the West Baray and Puck market, where you'll have the opportunity to sample deep-fried crickets and water bugs. Continuing on our bikes, we'll journey through Krabei Riel Village, passing by picturesque rice fields, traditional Khmer houses, and serene pagodas. Following a satisfying lunch, our cycling expedition will lead us to Tone Sap Lake, where we'll embark on a local boat upon arrival. Slowly cruising through the waters, we'll reach Mechrey Floating Village nestled on the Tonle Sap Lake. After exploring the village, we'll return by boat to the pier, where you'll have the option to either transfer or continue cycling back to Siem Reap. In Siem Reap, we'll organize a farewell dinner and bid adieu to the local team, concluding our memorable journey on a delightful note.

DAY 12 – SIEM REAP DEPARTURE

No cycling Meals provided:  Breakfast On this final day, you'll have the opportunity to unwind and explore the city at your leisure before embarking on your onward journey or returning home. Hotel check-out is at 12:00, allowing you ample time to soak in any last-minute experiences before bidding farewell to this captivating destination.

Bikes

We have fleet of modern, MTB bicycles that are included in the cost of your tour. Saddle are wide and comfy gel cushioning and spring.

You need to bring your own clip in pedals if you prefer these. You also have the option to bring own bike seat/saddle. Which our mechanic will fit for you.

All bikes will be labelled with customers’ names so that they have the same bike each day and alloy smooth operations. 

Guides throughout the Journey

During the riding days, we offer a professional guide to lead the ride as well as a backup vehicle. The person in charge will move your luggage to the new location. In bigger groups, two guides may be present, one in front and one behind the group. The guide makes sure that transportation, lodging, meals, and luggage transfers all go according to plan. This individual also takes care of our visitors' safety, general well-being, and bike maintenance while keeping a careful eye on traffic conditions and any updates to the route. Please be aware that the support vehicle typically stays with the riding group all day long, offering complete mechanical assistance and backup.

I am not a skilled rider. Can I join you on your tour?

We want more and more people to start utilising bikes for everything from commuting to work to taking leisurely outings, as we are an organisation headed by dedicated bike connoisseurs. Our adventures are therefore created so that the general public may enjoy the tour. To make it easier for you, we'll ride at a relaxed pace. Our trips are classified to help you understand the degree of fitness expected. Take part in one of TRA’s worldwide trips if you're searching for an adrenaline rush.

Do you bike during the summer months?

Cycling is enjoyable in almost any weather, even in the heat. Our tour guides will make a little alteration to the itinerary so you can avoid the intense afternoon sun. To make the journey satisfying for you, we'll include extra water stops and pay close attention to your necessities.

Do you go cycling when it rains?

Yes, cycling in the rain is perfectly pleasant. To keep you warm and dry along the trip, our staff will give you a poncho. Additionally, we will add mudguards to every bike so that you may easily ride over any terrain. We will arrange for a backup until the situation is clear or halt for breaks if the rain is making it difficult to navigate.

I have a tight dietary regimen. Will you be able to cook me a certain meal?

We genuinely like making you feel at home. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or allergies when making your reservation so that we may ensure appropriate food preparations for you.

Will it be possible to personalize a tour?
